Toowong, a heads up… road upgrades are on the way!

Works are starting at the Milton Road, Croydon Street and Morley Street intersection as part of the Toowong intersection improvements and Sylvan Road bikeway project.

Works will begin in early August 2026 and continue through to early 2027 (weather and site conditions permitting).

Most works will happen at night 🌙 between 7pm–5am, Sunday to Thursday, helping reduce daytime traffic impacts. Some daytime works may also take place between 7am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

During construction, temporary traffic changes will be required, including:

🚗 Intermittent lane and road closures, with signage and traffic controllers onsite to help keep everyone moving safely

🏡 Property access maintained within closure areas, with assistance available for residents

↔️ Detours in place for through traffic when required

🚧 Croydon Street outbound lane closures at night, with two-way traffic maintained where possible

🅿️ Temporary parking changes on Cadell Street while drainage works and equipment storage take place

🌙 Intermittent night closures on St Osyth Street and the Milton Road to Croydon Street left turn slip lane

We’ll keep you updated on changes as these works progress 💛

Thanks for your patience while these important upgrades are delivered.
