The countdown is on but Brisbane’s biggest legacy is already taking shape ✨
The @brisbane.lordmayor recently unveiled Brisbane’s Legacy Blueprint, a plan to make sure the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games leave a lasting mark on the city we call home 💛
With 21 initiatives across transport, housing, public spaces and partnerships, the Blueprint is about creating a Brisbane that’s easier to move around, more connected and even better to enjoy every day.
Think expanded Brisbane Metro 🚍, up to 50,000 new homes close to transport 🏡, shaded walking routes through the Green and Gold Grid 🌿 and new ways to make the most of our beautiful river 🌊
But a legacy isn’t just about places and projects, it’s about people too 💛
The Youth Legacy Alumni Network will empower Brisbane’s next generation to lead, connect and help shape our city’s future before, during and beyond the Games 🌟
What makes this plan special is that Brisbane locals helped shape it, with almost 20,000 resident votes and more than 2,000 ideas submitted helping guide the vision and priorities 💡
Great cities are built together 🤝
This is a plan shaped by residents, for residents, creating a Brisbane we can all enjoy for generations to come 💛
The @brisbane2032 Games will be an incredible moment for our city 🏅
But the real legacy will be the improvements we enjoy long after the Closing Ceremony ✨
