One chapter closes, another begins, and the future of Brisbane’s Inner West is looking bright!
The 2026 Inner West Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) has wrapped up, celebrating an inspiring group of young leaders while welcoming a new cohort of Youth Ambassadors for 2027.
Throughout the year, our 2026 Youth Ambassadors have gone beyond talking about making a difference. They have stepped up, shared their voices, challenged ideas and turned their passion into action across the community.
From volunteering and community events to leadership, innovation, sport, life skills and championing literacy, the group has demonstrated the valuable contribution young people can make when they are given opportunities to lead and be heard.
Building confidence and creating opportunities
At its heart, the Inner West Youth Ambassador Program is about empowering young people to develop leadership skills, build confidence, form friendships and strengthen their connection with the community.
It provides a platform for young people to share ideas, explore new opportunities and play an active role in helping shape the future of Brisbane.
A big congratulations to our 2026 graduates and committee chairs for their enthusiasm, commitment and contribution throughout the program.
We also extend a special thank you to guest speaker Gav Parry from UQ Ventures for sharing his insights and inspiring our emerging leaders, along with everyone who helped make this year's program possible.
Welcoming the Class of 2027
As we celebrate the achievements of our 2026 graduates, we are excited to welcome our incoming 2027 Youth Ambassadors.
Their journey is just beginning, and we look forward to seeing the ideas, energy and initiatives they bring to the program in the year ahead.
The future isn't something we simply wait for. It's something we create together, and it's wonderful to see the next generation of changemakers already stepping forward.
