🚢🦘Brisbane’s Olympic spirit has officially set sail!

There’s something special about seeing the future of our city come to life right before our eyes, and today it’s cruising down the Brisbane River.

Meet the KangaCat, Brisbane’s first-ever Olympic-inspired CityCat, featuring the @ausolympicteam iconic Boxing Kangaroo, BK. 🥊🦘

BK represents the determination, courage and never-give-up spirit of our Australian athletes, from the champions who have already made us proud to the young Brisbane kids dreaming of competing on home soil in 2032.

As the six-year countdown begins, the KangaCat is one of the first visible signs of @brisbane2032 stepping proudly into its role as an @olympics and @paralympics Host City.

And what better stage than our beautiful Brisbane River with @brisbane.lordmayor Adrian Schrinner, @crandrewwines @crvickihoward @crjuliadixon 🙌🏼

Last financial year, a record 6.8 million passengers travelled on Brisbane’s ferries, connecting locals and visitors with some of our city’s best riverside attractions, dining precincts and destinations, all for just 50 cents a trip.

The KangaCat begins services today, Sunday 19 July, travelling from Hawthorne to St Lucia. You can track it on the AnyTrip app under its official name, Mahreel, alongside our much-loved Bluey and Bingo CityDogs.

In 2032, the athletes will put on the show and Brisbane will be their stage. 💚💛
