Brisbane New Bus Network Walter Taylor Community

From Monday the 30th of June, Brisbane’s new bus network rolls out. The Brisbane Metro project is a key step in improving our city's connectivity and delivering a world-class, reliable, and accessible transport network.

By easing pressure on the inner-city busways, Metro will make way for more frequent services across our suburbs - including new school routes to help get our children home sooner and safer.

Metro will also complement the new bus network by offering more turn-up-and-go travel options, helping to keep Brisbane moving now and into the future.

New and Improved School Services

  • Route 716 – After my advocacy, and the overwhelming support from the community, this new school route connects students between Toowong and Taringa with Indooroopilly State High School.

  • Routes 415 and 714 – I am pleased to have been able to secure the 714 (AM service) and 415 (aligned PM service) being extended to Taringa and Indooroopilly Woods to better connect these communities with the Indooroopilly school precinct.

  • Routes 726 (AM and PM) and 744 (PM) – These services have been updated to better reflect the new bell times at QASMT, and to avoid congestion during the peak morning period.

Improved Reliability

Route 470 – the route will be divided in two to improve the reliability of the service due to the route and inner-city traffic conditions of this service. Route 470 will now simply run from Toowong to the City.

Route 105 – Route 108 will be merged into 105 and provide consistent all-day service to this route.
