Brisbane City Council mowing season

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to keep Brisbane looking this good… just picture your local Councillor 😉 on a ride-on mower leading the charge!

🚜🌱 Our dedicated crews are revving up, to keep Brisbane’s parks and suburbs looking sharp as summer kicks off ☀️

Every year, more than 400 workers and 150 mowers team up to maintain over 70,000 hectares of grass, that’s the equivalent of mowing Suncorp Stadium 63,000 times 🤯🌱

November marks the start of our summer mowing schedule and our teams are powering through long days (and even weekends) to stay ahead of the fast growth brought on by heat and summer storms. Recently I caught up with David, Matt and Lincoln part of our hardworking mower crews and I’m so grateful for them working in this heat 🥵

The weather ⛈️ isn’t always on our side, but whenever conditions allow, you’ll find our crews out making sure Brisbane’s parks stay picnic-ready, play-ready, and family-friendly all summer long 🌿✨

You’ll see more mowing signs around, so please stay safe and give our teams plenty of space. And if you spot overgrown grass, simply search ‘overgrown grass’ on Council’s website to report it.

Thanks for your patience after all the recent rain, our crews are working hard to catch up and to keep Brisbane clean, tidy and summer-ready 🌱
