HMAS Brisbane III Granted Freedom of Entry to the City of Brisbane

May 29 marked a proud and historic occasion as HMAS Brisbane III exercises its Freedom of Entry to the City of Brisbane, one of the highest honours a city can bestow upon a military unit. 🎖️🏛️

This centuries-old tradition symbolises the trust, respect and enduring bond between the people of Brisbane and the sailors who serve our nation. With swords drawn, drums beating, bands playing and colours flying, HMAS Brisbane proudly marches through the city it represents. 🥁🎺🚩⚔️

As the third Royal Australian Navy ship to carry the name Brisbane, HMAS Brisbane III continues a distinguished legacy of service, protecting Australia’s interests at home and abroad. 🌏⚓️ From advanced air defence capabilities to supporting maritime security operations, the ship and her crew exemplify the Navy’s core values of Service, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Excellence. 💙
